As the Principal Java Developer/ Technical Lead, you will:- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to a team of 5 – 8 developers in accordance with Gentiva standards and commonly accepted best practices
- Provide project leadership for multiple projects at a time in a fast paced, challenging environment. You will need to build relationships within the business and technical teams and coordinate work streams across different groups in order to consistently deliver projects on time that meet the needs of the business.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for our business partners in identifying and prioritizing work efforts, gathering requirements, and defining solutions.
- Participate in the positive evolution of our team, technically, culturally, and procedurally. We strive in everything that we do to be the best that we can be and believe that is best served by an environment which fosters openness, respect, focus, hard work, personal ownership, and accountability.
- Understand all of the open production issues at any point in time and manage a technical response that is reflective of the business’s priorities, our technical priorities, and general resource availability.
- Provide calm leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5+ years of Java enterprise application development experience
- 3+ years developing, supporting, and maintaining large scale JEE web applications
- 3+ years as a technical lead
- 2+ years in a management or supervisory role
- Experience working on teams of 20+
- Experience managing/leading teams of 5+
Required: - Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This is a business-facing position and you will be interacting with business users at a Director level and above on a regular basis.
- Experience with all phases of the SDLC from project inception to delivery
- Project management experience, formal or informal
- Previous management / lead experience
- Recent development experience
Desired: - Experience with Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and various Java testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Hudson, etc.)
- Experience with the following: Maven, Subversion, SOAP, JMS, ESB, Spring, Hibernate, JSF, web services, Eclipse, UML, JBoss AS
- SQL experience, preferably strong PL-SQL experience
